Pony Points are a new type of currency introduced in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. These Pony Points can be used to redeem rewards like sleeping in the Malanya Bed, which grants Link additional yellow hearts, or Endura Carrot, which can buff Link’s stamina.

You can also get several valuable items for your mount and increase the number of additional horses you can register. While these rewards might not be that great, they can still help Link and his mounts during their journey in the vast world of Hyrule.

How To Get Pony Points

Registering A Horse In Stables in Tears of the Kingdom

To start earning Pony Points, the players are required to collect the Pony Point Card first. Don't worry; it's easy to get one. Head to any big stable you find, and talk with the stable clerk. After your interaction, the clerk will provide you with your Pony Point Card and 1 Pony Point.

Sleeping At Stables

The first and fastest way to earn pony points in Tears of the Kingdom is by sleeping at the stables. Sleeping at the stables will also restore Link’s health.

However, sleeping is not free. To sleep in a regular bed at the stable, you will have to pay 20 rupees. To sleep in a Malanya bed, you must pay 50 rupees. You will earn 1 Pony Point every time you sleep on either of the beds.

Registering New Horses At Stables

Registering new horses will give you 1 Pony Point. The more horses you tame and register at the stable, the more pony points you earn. After you have caught a horse, ride them to any stable, and you can register them for 20 rupees each. However, the first register will be free and give you 2 Pony Points.

Generally, you can register a maximum of six horses at the stables. But you can increase it to ten by using Pony Points later.

Activities and Side Quests

Apart from sleeping and registering horses at the stables, players can earn some Pony Points by completing specific activities like fixing the stables at Lookout Landing. There are several sidequests which can reward the players with pony points:

  • The Horse Guard's Request- 2 Pony Points
  • A Picture for...- 1 Pony Point Per Picture
  • An Uninvited Guest- 2 Pony Points
  • Piaffe, Packed Away- 1 Pony Point
