Hateno Village Location

Hateno Village Map

To find Hateno Village, you’ll need to scan the southeastern side of Hyrule map, near the Necluda Sea. If this is your first time exploring this part of the map, you’ll most likely find Hateno Village before you activate the Mount Lanayru Skytower and unlock the map region the village resides in.

The easiest way to reach the village is to take the Dueling Peaks path all the way east. This will take you through some grassy plains and a few canyons before ultimately leading you to Hateno Village. You'll know you've arrived when you see the giant mushrooms around the town sign. Make sure you grab the Shrine of Light here before you leave, so you can easily return whenever you want. If you're up for a steep hike, once you're done exploring the town, be sure to head up the mountain to get the Mount Lanayru Skytower. It is incredibly cold on the mountain, make sure you have some cold resistance armor on.

Hateno Village Overview

Kochi Dye Shop and vendor

When you first arrive, you’ll notice the whole town is decorated with mushrooms. A new fashion designer has moved in and has about half of the village wearing her clothes. If you speak with her, you’ll get a couple of quests pertaining to her challenging the current mayor for the seat. Link naturally won't want to choose sides, so you can actually do quests for both parties and learn more about the village and its current struggles.

If you don’t want to jump right into a quest, try visiting one of the most important shops in the game - the Kochi Dye Shop. Here, you can change the color of your armor and swap out different paraglider designs as you acquire them. Each time you dye your armor, you'll end up doing everything you are wearing all at once. This allows you to mix and match armor pieces while still feeling a sense of cohesion in your style. Nothing says fashionable quite like a color-coordinated outfit.
