The Master Sword has been an iconic weapon in The Legend of Zelda games, and it has made a triumphant return in the franchise's latest installment, Tears of the Kingdom. Unlike the previous game, it is possible to acquire the Master Sword early on in the game.
Additionally, with the Fusion ability unlocked, you can make the Master Sword very more powerful. Even without incorporating fusion, the Master Sword boasts high damage in comparison to other weapons that you'll collect in the early to mid-game. The task of finding the Master Sword is not easy and requires you to hunt for 12 geoglyphs hidden around Hyrule. To make things easier, this guide lists down all 12 geoglyphs locations around Hyrule with location names and corresponding map images.
Locating The Master Sword
To embark on this quest, head northwest of Lookout Landing to a nearby road south of Tabantha Hills. You'll find Cato nearby, and when engaging in a conversation with him, you'll learn that Impa has been investigating some geoglyphs. You also learn that finding all the geoglyphs is your way to acquiring the Master Sword.
Next, head to New Serene Stables to locate Impa and a broken hot air balloon. Here, you learn about finding Dragon's Tears that are within these glyphs. The large glyphs are easy to survey from higher ground, making it easier to locate the Dragon Tears.
Survey the first geoglyph for the Dragon's Tear, collect them, and head back to Impa, who will ask you to reach The Forgotten Temple in the Tabantha Frontier. Once you reach the Forgotten Temple, head to the back of the temple to find Impa waiting for you. Heading further into the temple, you will reach a map room that shows you all the geoglyph locations in Hyrule. Each Dragon's Tear collected will also play a memory of the Princess Zelda.
Listed below are the locations of the geoglyphs along with reference pictures.
Geoglyph #2 - Illumeni Plateau
West of Central Hyrule
Geoglyph #3 - North Tabantha Snowfield
Northeast of Pikida Stonegrove Skyview Tower.
Geoglyph #4 - Tabantha Hills
South of Pikida Stonegrove Skyview Tower
Geoglyph #5 - Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower
Southwest of Central Hyrule.
Geoglyph #6 - Typholo Ruins Skyview Tower

Geoglyph #7 - Eldin Canyon Skyview Tower

Geoglyph #8 - West of Batrea Lake

Geoglyph #10 - Talus Plateau Geoglyph

Geoglyph #11 - Rimba Beach Geoglyph
South of Central Hyrule and Rabella Wetlands Skyview Tower.
With all the Dragon Tears collected, it's time to collect the Master Sword that is embedded in the skull of a flying dragon. You'll be able to spot the dragon near the Ulri Mountain Skyview Tower. You can jump off the Ulri Mountain Skyview Tower and glide your way to the top of the dragon.
After you land on the dragon, you can also pick up the Shard of Light Dragon's Spike fusion, which increase weapon damage and restore health. Next, walk up to the dragon's head while being careful not to slip off the dragon's back and interact with the Master Sword to pull it out. As mentioned earlier, you will need two full bars of stamina to pull the weapon.
About The Master Sword
Unlike other weapons, the Master Sword cannot be broken, but it does have a 10-minute cooldown timer. However, it should not be a big concern if you use the Fusion ability, enabling you to one or two-shot enemies easily. The weapon is also very effective against early and mid-game bosses. An important thing to consider when fusing the Master Sword with materials is that when the weapon runs out of energy, any material fused with the weapon will also be lost.
The Master Sword is an incredible addition to your arsenal in Tears of the Kingdom. Acquiring the Master Sword early on in the game will also make your journey easier. In addition to the Master Sword, you'll also want to acquire the Hylian Shield early on in the game, yet another incredible gear to add to your inventory.
