The Secret of the Ring Ruins can be started once you have completed all four quests as part of the Regional Phenomena questline, and Purah asks to look for the fifth Sage. To start the quest, players first need to reach Sahasra Slope Skyview Tower which is situated at 1344, -1170, 0166. From there, players can simply glide towards 1816, -0951, and 0113 to reach Kakariko Village where they will find Tauro and Chief Paya. Once you interact with them, they will be talking about the Ring Ruins and this will start the quest.

Starting The Quest

Start off by going straight into the ravine outside where Tauro and Paya were standing and use the nearby ladders to get on top. Once you reach a circular structure, you will find a box with red color cloth on it. Hop on top of it and use Ascend to reach the next platform.

Use Ascend once more to reach a closed area with a stone engraving in front of you. Take a picture of the Ring Ruins stone slab and then head all the way back to Tauro to show him the picture. Tauro will ask you to head southeast and then eventually speak about the Zonai ruins in Faron. Head to the Popla Foothills Skyview Tower to find Calib who will tell you Tauro is at the Daracozu Lake.

Charged Armor Set Location

From the Popla Foothills Skyview Tower, head southeast to find Dracozu Lake. Once you reach Dracozu Lake, you will find a camp nearby and a cave entrance right opposite at coordinates 0968, -2531, 0008. Head inside to find Tauro who will tell you a puzzle that he needs to crack, "Wear the electric garb hidden at the long-necked dragons along the wide-mouthed forest serpent". Now, you need to get three pieces of the Charged Armor to proceed in the quest. For that, head right above the wall in front of which Tauro was standing to find a chest and get the Charged Shirt, which is the simplest of them all.

Head outside and take a left to continue across the bridges. Keep going South until you reach coordinates 0983, -2691,0008 where you will find a cave entrance blocked with rocks. Break the rocks with your fused weapon and head inside to get the Charged Trousers. Go outside, take a right, and continue forwards until you see another cave entrance across the river blocked with branches. The coordinates you need to head to are 0969, -2801, 0007. Cut the branches, head inside the cave, and then grab the Charged Headdress from inside.

Finding The Altar & Reaching Thunderhead Isles

Now, you need to reach the altar. Head outside and keep heading straight across the river. Keep following the path until you reach the coordinates 0688, -2744, 0014 where you will find another cave entrance with a white light, right behind the tree. Head inside the entrance and equip your Charged armor. Place the Zonai armor on the altar to trigger a cutscene and reveal the New Sky Island. From there, you need to head back to Popla Foothills Skyview Tower and use the platform in the center to propel yourself in the air. Head to the new Sky Island in the southeast direction, to find the Thunderhead Isles, which looks like an archipelago in the shape of a Dragon.

Your goal is to reach the utmost end of Dragonhead Island right at the head of the Dargon. Like in the previous parts of the Sky Islands, you need to use a combination of glide and Ascend to make your way across. Alternatively, there are places that can propel you up into the air using Riju's Lightning Strike. If you are looking for points of interest in the area, you can refer to our Thunderhead Isle walkthrough to learn about all the interesting stuff you can possibly miss on the islands. After you reach the island which is like the head of the dragon, aka the Dragonhead Island, you will find the Joku-U Shrine right at the center. There is a path blocked with branches right opposite it, which you can go past to find a door. Open the door to find a relic right at the center, which you can grab to start the Guidance from Ages Past quest.
