The Sidon of the Zora quest is undoubtedly the most complicated of the entire Regional Phenomena questline in Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom, as it spans across multiple quests, including The Broken Slate and Clues To The Sky quests.

Unlike the other quests in the Regional Phenomena questline, you don't need any specific armor to start this quest, although it is quite useful to have some Splash Fruit with you as they might come in handy from time to time. Here is all you need to know about completing the Sidon of the Zora quest in Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom.

Start The Sidon Of The Zora Quest

To kick off the quest, players need to travel to Zora's domain, which they can reach from the Lanaryu Tower via the Inogo Bridge. Once players reach the area, they need to speak with Yona and start the Slude-Covered Statue quest. Upon completion of this quest, Yona reveals that she is about to get married to Sidon and asks Link to meet her in the infirmary. This will start the Sidon of the Zora quest. You need to head to the infirmary, which is right below the throne, and interact with Yona once again.

Finding Ancient Arowana & Restoring Zora Armor

Yona will mention the Zora Armor, but players first need to bring an Ancient Arowana to get that. There are a couple of ways by which you can find the Ancient Arowana. The first one requires you to simply listen to Yona and meet the blacksmith Dento, which can be found in the eastern part of the domain.

Dento will point you toward Mipha's court near Ploymus Mountain. To reach the area, you can first head to the Ihen-a Shrine and then use the nearby staircase to reach the pool with ancient Arowana. The other place to look for Ancient Arowana is at the Great Sky Island (which you visit once again as part of the Tulin of Rito Village quest). Head to the Nachoya Shrine, and you will find plenty of Ancient Arowana in the pools right beside it.

Once you have the ancient Arowana, you can meet with Yona to get the Zora armor. Before you can proceed with the Sidon of the Zora quest, you need to complete two intermediate quests, Broken Slate and Clues to the Sky. In order to start the quest, players first need to reach Mipha Court. Head outside Zora's domain towards the east, and you will find a number of waterfalls. You must use your newly acquired Zora armor for swimming up the third waterfall and then swim up the first one on the right after reaching the top.

Completing Broken Slate & Clues To The Sky

You will find a pond with Sidon standing in the middle. Speak with him, and he will ask you to meet historian Jiahto who can be found in Toto Lake. You can reach Toto Lake by simply heading to the nearby Skyview Tower that you see at a distance. Once you reach Toto Lake, you will find Dunma. Speak with him to learn that Jiahto is in a nearby cave, which you can head to start the Broken Slate quest. You can refer to our Broken Slate quest guide here to learn how to complete this quest.

Once you have completed this quest, the Clues To The Sky quest will unlock. This involves finding King Dorephan, heading to the Land of the Sky Fish, and completing the droplet puzzle. You can refer to our Clues To The Sky guide here to learn how to complete the quest.

Defeating Sludge-Like Boss

After you have completed Clues To The Sky, you can now proceed with the Sidon of the Zora quest. Head back to Mipha Court, and you will find Yona and Sidon there. Interact with them, and a monster, Sludge-Like, will suddenly appear. Staying true to its name, the monster will be covered in Sludge, which acts like a shield. To remove that, you can use Splash Fruit or simply ask Sidon to activate the water bubble, which will allow you to remove the sludge with melee attacks.

Once the Sludge is gone, wait until it attacks, and you see a purple-colored spot. This is the weak spot you need to target in order to take down the boss. Timing is of the essence here, so it might take a while to get the hang of things, but if you follow this strategy, you should be able to defeat pretty quickly.

Unblocking The Pipes In Ancient Zora Waterworks

After defeating the Sludge Like, Sidon will head to the East Reservoir Lake. You can reach the area by heading South to reach the Shatterback Point and then gliding to the lake. Interact with Sidon, and he will create a whirlpool that players can jump into to reach the Ancient Zora Waterworks. You will notice that there are two blocked tunnels in the area, and you need to break them in order to proceed.

To reach the tunnel on the east, make a path using wood, and then use your weapon fused with a boulder to break the rocks. Alternatively, you can use your arrow with Bomb Flower to break the rocks too. Once that's done, head to the blocked pipe on the west and clear the rocks there as well. As players unblock these two pipes, they will notice the water level has risen, and they will find two more pipes after going across the water.

For the first pipe, you can simply break it as the previous two. But for the other pipe, you will notice that it is not blocked by rocks. Instead, you need to head inside. There will be some enemies inside, and once players have cleared that, they will reach an area with water dropping from the top. Use Ascend here to teleport Link to the blocked area. Break the rocks once again, which will cause the water level to be high enough.

Take the staircase upwards and then interact with the lever to open the gate. Glide to the green altar and interact with it to cause a waterfall to drop from the sky. Use your Zora Armor to swim up this waterfall and reach Wellspring Island.

Traversing Wellspring Island

Wellspring Island is similar to the last sections of Tulin of Rito Village, and players need to ascend, but instead of boats, they will have water orbs to help them. Interact with Sidon, and then use the nearby water bubble to move to the next platform. In the subsequent sections, you will need to use the water orbs along with your glide ability to reach higher platforms. If you see Sludge-covered areas blocking your path, grab the nearby water pump to remove the Sludge, and then use the waterfalls to continue on your path. You will finally reach the Igoshon Shrine, and from there, take the staircase on the left to get a glider. Place the glider on the incline and then hit the switch to glide to the next platform.

Keep using the waterfalls to ascend higher and higher until you reach an area filled with enemies. You can skip them and go to the top of the pillars on the right to find a number of water orbs. Players should use the Recall ability on these orbs and then go inside them. In the next area, players need to use Ultrahand to create a ramp where the water orb hits the wall so that it propels it into the air. Once you have the ramp setup, hop inside the water orb to reach another platform with a few gliders.

zelda-totk-sidon-of-zora-9

Place the glider on the edge, attach a few fans to it, and then place it on the incline. Hop onto the glider to reach the platform above, where Sidon will be waiting for you. Defeat the enemy behind Sidon if you want to, and then use the staircase to reach the waterfall. Swim up the waterfall to reach the Water Temple. You can refer to our Water Temple guide here to learn how to complete it, and once that's done, the Sidon of the Zora quest will finally be completed.
