Like the other quests of the Regional Phenomena questline, players will be facing quite harsh weather conditions in Gerudo Town as well. In order to be well-equipped for the quest, players should grab armor with some heat resistance. The Desert Voe armor set is found in this region itself, so you can check that out if you don't have any heat resistance armor available.

Start The Riju Of Gerudo Town Quest Walkthrough

To kickstart the quest, players need to find Riju, who is located in the North Gerudo Ruins, situated just north of Gerudo Town at -3769, -2646, 0032. Thankfully, you don't need to battle Riju here like Yunobu, and Riju will explain the lightning trouble the region is facing. To start off, you need to practice Lightning Strike with Riju. For the first round, simply use your bow to shoot at the dummy, while for subsequent rounds, you need to shoot the orb in front of the dummies to take out all of them.

Defending Gerudo Town

Soon after that, you will make your way to Kara Kara Bazaar, which is located at -3181, -2550, 0027, right east of the Ruins, where you will be facing several rounds of Gibdo enemies. Use your ally's lightning strike ability to take them down while keeping in mind the tricks you learn during the previous objective.

Soon after, you will notice that the enemies are coming from a nearby mushroom, and you need to destroy it. The mushroom is vulnerable when it is purple, so keep an eye out for that as you defend yourself.

Once you have cleared all Gibdos, make your way back to Gerudo Town. Head up from the staircase at -3682, -2941, and 0050 to speak with Riju, who will ask you to speak with Buliaria and prepare for battle. Head to the throne room nearby and speak with Buliara and Riju. Make sure you stock up on items in between, as there are plenty on the way. You can do a number of things to prepare for battle, like placing barricades and placing soldiers.

It doesn't really matter quite a lot where you position everything, with the only caveat being making sure that you position the ranged soldiers behind barricades to increase their efficiency. Once you are done with all that, speak with Riju and start the battle. The battle itself isn't that difficult; all you need to do is take down the Gibdo hives and then clear out the remaining enemies.

Solving The Pillars Puzzle

Once that's done, head back to the underground area right beneath the throne room to speak with Riju. You will need to solve a puzzle to proceed to the next section. Head back to the throne room, and face the opposite of the throne. Using your Ultrahand ability, move the Sand Seal or simply go behind it to see a pillar far in the desert. Make your way to the pillar (located at -4051, -3145, 0062) and climb up to see the broken ground right under it.

Destroy it, and a light beam will reveal the path to the second pillar. Head to the second pillar at -4597, -3271, 0046, and you will see that it has a mirror that is away from the path of the beam. Use the nearby pillar at -4599, -3275, and 0046 to reposition the mirror and place it in the path of the beam. Follow the path to reach the third pillar.

For the third pillar, break the ground beneath once again. Then, head to the top of the pillar and use the wood from the broken ground to repair the wheel on top of the platform. You can use the nearby Zonai platforms to transport the wood above. Use the wheel to reposition the mirror, and you will notice that the three pillars form a triangle. You need to go to the center of the triangle at -4253, -3346, and 0042, where you will find Riju. Use Riju's lightning strike to hit the newly emerged structure and reveal the path to the Lightning Temple. You can refer to our guide here if you are facing difficulties in completing the Lightning Temple. Once that's done, head back to Gerudo Town to complete the quest.
