One way you can receive rewards is through Yiga Clan training. The Yiga Clan's life purpose is to destroy those who go against Ganon. One side quest involves Link infiltrating them. This is one of the longest side quests involving Link to travel a lot prior to disguising as one of the clan members.

Updated by Isabella Risoni on June 27, 2023: The Yiga Clan in Tears Of The Kingdom can be tricky to deal with. Due to this, we have updated the in-text links as well as the related links to give more insights on the various quests associated with Yiga. We have also updated the featured photo to showcase the Lightning Helm helmet as this is a very useful reward you receive during the Yiga Clan training.

Yiga Clan Location

The character in Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom has Link dressed as a Yiga Clan member to gain access to their hideout.

First you will want to travel to the Gerudo Highlands region. The Yiga Clan is located in a cave near the Kiuyoyou Shrine, west of Great Hyrule Forest. If you travel to Mount Drena, this cave will be at the base on the south side. You will need to use your glider to fall into the canyon. The actual coordinates of this hideout are (-3688, -1365, 0331).

Keep in mind that you will need the full Yiga set to enter. After you complete the 3 stages of training, you will walk away with 3 separate rewards. You will need 200 rupees to participate in all 3 rounds of the training, so if you don't have many rupees on you, it's best to stock up before doing this mission.

Training Round 1

The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom character received the Yiga Fabric used for a paraglider after round 1 of the Yiga Clan training.

When you enter the hideout, you will meet with Yiga Blademaster who will help with your training. He won't recognize you in the Yiga armor. Once you find him again inside, he will show you the Lightning Helm, their secret treasure. There will be a few "tests" given to you by the Blademaster.

The first test is to defeat 3 combatants in under 1 minute. He waves the 100 rupee fee for this first round. You will then run around defeating the enemies that appear until either the time is up or you defeat them. For this, you receive the Yiga Fabric. This fabric bears the Yiga design which you are able to use for a customization for your paraglider.

Training Round 2

The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom character is in phase 2 of the training with Yiga Clan.

The next round of training involves the Earthwake technique. You have to take down 6 combatants this round within the time limit. You will then give Yiga Blademaster your 100 rupees and warned that there will be no quitting until you complete the challenge. This wave of enemies will be fairly easy, though more difficult than the first wave.

You will be given 60 seconds to complete it. From this round, you will receive the Earthwake Manual. This manual will reveal the secret of the Earthwake technique, which only Yiga blademasters have knowledge on. This is an unarmed weapon and is magic that can be used when Link isn't wielding any main hand weapon.

The fact this doesn't have to recharge makes this "weapon" very useful. Use this by unequipping melee weapons and holding down the attack button to do a charge attack. You can also target enemies to be more precise. When you let go, a pillar of rock will come out of the ground and strike. This will only work on relatively flat surfaces and will make the smaller enemies go flying.

Training Round 3

The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom character is receiving the Lightning Helm after completing the 3rd round of training with the Yiga Clan.

For the third round, you will need to pay another 100 rupees to participate. This round will allow you to prove that you are worthy of the Lightning Helm. For this final round, you will defeat 9 combatants within the time limit. Once you pay the rupees, you will begin and have another 60 seconds to take down 9 enemies.

Some have found switching weapons helps during this round. To quickly defeat them, use a strong weapon as well as take advantage of ice fruit and shock fruit to prevent them from jumping around. This will be the most difficult round as the enemies will be jumping around more. Once finished, you will speak with him once more and receive the Lightning Helm. This is lightning proof and adorned with topaz.

Prior to wearing this, if you were to get struck by lightning, it would take 14.5 hearts of damage, depending on the circumstances. You are pretty much one shotted by lightning strikes. The chances of getting struck by lightning in this game are a little higher if Link is wielding a metal weapon when there is a thunderstorm. Basically, this helmet will prevent the damage and make you immune to lightning.
