Hinox is one such massive enemy that you will have to fight as part of the Ousting The Giants, which has you helping out the patrons of a nearby Stable. This quest brings you face-to-face with three of these big guys, who all count towards the overall amount of Hinox you can find around the game.

Start Ousting The Giants

TotK - Kampo at Lakeside Stable

When you find the Lakeside Stable in the southern region of Faron, you will find an NPC named Kampo, lamenting the issues with three Hinox brothers nearby. He explains that the three of them reside in three different caves among the waterfalls nearby and that their presence has made it a burden to keep business coming to the Stable.

While he won't ask you directly to take care of them, you are Link, so you will naturally get ready to fight.

Complete Ousting The Giants

TotK - Ousting the Giants Markers on Map

When you make the quest your active one, you will get three map markers leading you nearby. You will have to navigate across the large bridge right outside the Stable to the other side, and climb a little way up the cliffs.

You can do each fight in any order since all Hinox Brothers are just sleeping in their caves. When you approach each marker, you will notice that it is not exactly where the entrance to the cave is. Luckily, you won't be able to miss any of them; simply look at the cliff close to you, and you will see the cave you have to go through.

The Youngest Hinox Brother's cave is shrouded in darkness, and you will need to use the Brightbloom plants in the cave - or from your inventory - to light your way. Just make your way through the cave, using the light when you need to, and beware of some holes in the ground that you can fall through. Eventually, you will find the brother and start your fight with him.

The fight is pretty standard: just shoot the Hinox in the eye with an arrow so they are knocked over, and then move in to wail on them with your best weapon. You can also hack at its exposed ankle while it's upright, but you need to be ready to dodge out of the way when it tries to sit on you. Just keep at it, and the brother will fall.

In order to get out of the cave, the best way is to just use Ascend. Look for the flat part of the ceiling and go up to the surface.

For the Middle Hinox Brother, his cave is simple and is made up of a ramp right past the entrance that you can go down, then drop into the brother's lair. He is most likely sleeping, so take the time as he wakes up to keep hitting him as much as you can. The strategy is the same as the last brother: shoot his eye, knock him down, and let loose on him. The fight will be over before you know it.

The Eldest Hinox Brother is the final one to take down. His cave is really simple to navigate as well; just work your way down until you drop into the battleground, where like his brothers, he is probably sleeping when you get there.

Now, this battle is slightly different from the others, as his ankles are both covered in braces, so you won't be able to attack his legs while he is upright. Luckily, the same strategy with arrows can be employed. Even better: there are numerous explosive barrels spread out around the area. Using Ultrahand to lift these up and then drop them on the brother will do a good chunk of damage. He won't stand a chance.

Once the last brother has fallen, use Ascend again to get to the surface, then head to the Stable. Speak again with Kampo to wrap the quest up.
