The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is full of references to past games. There are tons of easter eggs for players to discover around the world. Whether you want to see Link wearing armor from past games or you want to revisit the Champions from the last game, there are plenty of easter eggs to explore.
One such easter egg is The Sword of the Hero. This sword is from the 1986 game The Legend of Zelda. This was the first game to ever come out in the Zelda Franchise. This sword is part of the Armor of the Hero set and can be found in The Depths.
The Sword Of The Hero
The Sword of the Hero is a one-handed sword that deals 17 damage on its own. However, fusing it with items or weapons can truly make it a powerhouse. As mentioned, this is the sword that the original Link used in the very first game. This makes it one of the coolest references in the game.
It can be obtained by scanning The Legend of Zelda 30th Anniversary 8-Bit Link Amiibo. However, like most Amiibo items, it can also be found in the game. You can find it in The Depths by going to the location or finding an Old Map to take you to the location.
The Sword Of The Hero Location
In order to find the Sword of the Hero, you want to go to Dalite Grove in The Depths. This is directly below Dalite Forest on the surface. The closest Lightroot is the Muzasu Lightroot, corresponding with the Usazum Shrine on the surface. The closest chasm is the Yiga Clan Hideout Chasm. Considering this chasm is at a lower elevation than the grove, you may want to use some of the Zonai Devices available to you to create a Hoverbike.
Once you reach the Dalite Grove, be careful. There are Evermeans everywhere. These are the trees that will come to life and attack Link whenever he gets close. If you want to kill these easily, equip an item that can chop down trees. (Any sword or ax will do the trick.) You will see a hollowed-out tree trunk in the grove. The chest containing the Sword of the Hero is in the middle.
