Obtaining the Lightscale Trident
In order to acquire the Lightscale Trident, you must first seek out Dento, an artisan residing in Zora's Domain, located on the eastern region of the map. Look for him near the General Store. However, before Dento could offer his services to craft the legendary trident, you must undertake and complete the main quest assigned to you within Zora's Domain.
The quest entails the purification of the Sludge that has contaminated the surrounding waters. The quest will test your determination and resourcefulness as you overcome the challenges presented during this task. Once you successfully complete the main quest in Zora's Domain, Dento will initiate the "Glory of the Zora" quest, where you will embark on a new mission to gather the essential materials required for the crafting of the Lightscale Trident.
The materials necessary to forge this illustrious weapon are as follows:
- Five pieces of Flint
- Three Diamonds
- One Zora Spear
Obtaining The Materials
Flint can be easily obtained by breaking mineral deposits found in caves. There are two ways to acquire diamonds. One is to purchase them from Gonguron in Goron City's center. He sells three diamonds per day, but keep in mind that they are quite pricey, costing 1000 Rupees each. However, Gonguron will only sell them to you after you have completed the main quest in Goron City.
If you prefer to find diamonds rather than buying them, here are four locations where you can discover diamonds:
- Hyrule Castle: Glide north from Lookout Landing Skyview Tower and touch down on the Balcony that provides a view of the outer gate. Proceed to open the metal grate and descend to locate the diamond.
- Jinodok Shrine: Utilize the Hyrule Field Skyview Tower to reach the nearby floating platform and then use fans to reach the shrine. Acquire the Shrine Crystal in order to unlock entry to the diamond.
- Maoikes Shrine: Located southwest of the Upland Zorana Skyview Tower, this diamond can be found in a cave. Land on top of the cave and enter through the giant skull. Head north to reach the shrine and collect the diamond.
- Yomizuk Shrine: This shrine is situated within a cave on the east coast of Hyrule, near Lodrum Headland. Enter the cave on the south side of Lodrum Headland, navigate through the waterlogged cave, and reach the shrine to obtain the diamond.
Remember to explore these locations carefully to retrieve the diamonds needed for crafting the Lightscale Trident. Additionally, you have a chance to obtain diamonds as rare drops from Stone Talus bosses, which can be found in The Depths. The last material you need is a Zora Spear, which can come in two variations: gloom-corroded or sparkling. There are two guaranteed locations where you can find Zora Spears:
- Right next to Upland Zorana Skyview Tower, you'll find a Zora trapped in muck. Free him, and he will reward you with a Zora Spear.

South of the Skyview Tower, near Ralis Pond, you'll discover a chest to the west of the pond containing a Zora Spear.
If you have already collected and broken these two Zora Spears, there are alternative options available, including the "Like" enemies found in many caves that typically drop weapons when defeated. Refer to the image below to find the Like enemy location. Save the game before defeating one of these enemies, and if it doesn't drop the Zora Spear, reload the save and defeat it again. Repeat this process until you acquire a Zora Spear.
By obtaining these materials, including diamonds from Stone Talus enemies and Zora Spears from various sources, you will be ready to proceed with the crafting of the Lightscale Trident. Alternatively, you can search for Zora Spears in The Depths. There are two paths beneath Zora's Domain, starting from the Lanayru Wetlands Chasm and the East Hill Chasm, which are lined with Zora Statues. These paths converge at the Abandoned Lanayru Mine.
Shadow Figures standing on raised stone platforms along these paths often carry Zora Spears. While the specific Shadow Figures may vary in each playthrough, you will likely encounter at least one carrying a Zora Spear when exploring these paths. You can mark the locations of these Shadow Figures on your map using Sword Stamps.
Once you have gathered all the required materials, return to Dento to have him craft the Lightscale Trident for you.
Maximizing The Lightscale Trident
The Lightscale Trident possesses a solid base Attack Power of 22, delivering substantial damage to your enemies. However, its true strength lies in its unique attribute: the ability to inflict double damage when you or the Trident itself is wet. This bonus applies to any material integrated into the Trident's construction.
To fully unleash the potential of the Lightscale Trident, you can fuse it with a Silver Lynel Saber Horn. This combination will amplify its Attack Power significantly, reaching an impressive total of 154 when you or the weapon is wet.
Should an unfortunate event occur where the Lightscale Trident breaks or becomes lost, you can rely on the craftsmanship of Dento to fashion a replacement. Simply provide him with the identical set of materials used in its initial creation.
Repairing The Lightscale Trident
Restoring the Lightscale Trident to its former glory is a relatively straightforward process, thanks to the Rock Octoroks near the Death Mountain. To ensure that the precious Fuse Material on the Trident is not lost, begin by taking it to the Break-A-Part shop in Tarrey Town. For a modest fee of 20 Rupees, the skilled artisans at the shop will disassemble the Trident. This step is crucial to prepare for the repair process. Additionally, gather an unfused, non-legendary weapon or shield, such as a simple stick.
Now, head to Death Mountain, where 15-20 Rock Octoroks can be found. These locations are conveniently marked on the map for your reference. One particular area with multiple Rock Octoroks is near the Momosik Shrine, where three of these creatures dwell.
Repairing a regular weapon is a simple task: merely drop it in front of a Rock Octorok, and the creature will inhale the weapon, repair it, and perhaps even enhance its capabilities before expelling it back to you. However, when it comes to the Lightscale Trident, classified as a Legendary Weapon, the Rock Octoroks will regrettably reject and return it without any repair.
To deceive the discerning Rock Octoroks and ensure the repair of the Lightscale Trident, drop the Trident on the ground and fuse it with a non-legendary weapon or shield, such as a simple stick or any suitable non-legendary shield. Once the fusion is complete, offer this combined item to a Rock Octorok. As the creature begins the repair process, it will not only mend and potentially enhance the non-legendary item but also restore the fused Trident, albeit without any additional upgrades.
It's important to note that each Rock Octorok can only repair one item per occurrence of the Blood Moon phenomenon. Therefore, if multiple repairs are required, you will need to locate different Rock Octoroks before the next Blood Moon cycle.
Once the item is fully repaired with the Trident properly fused, bring it back to the Break-A-Part shop in Tarrey Town. Pay the nominal fee of 20 Rupees to the skilled craftsmen at the shop, and they will return to you the fully restored and functional Lightscale Trident.
