Tears of the Kingdom captures the feeling of finding a powerful weapon tucked away in some forgotten corner masterfully, scratching an itch that all gamers have. Ingeniously incorporating weapon durability into the mix, means players are constantly stuck in the loop of wanting to find the next big thing. Luckily, there is more than enough to go around.

The best weapons are not the ones you find inside a chest but the ones that are just lying around outside in the game world. Why? Because weapons that are not inside chests respawn every Blood Moon, meaning you get effectively an infinite number of those weapons if you’re just willing to wait. The Dusk Bow is one such weapon.

Finding The Bow

The Dusk Bow is lying on the ruined section of the tallest central spire of Hyrule Castle. When you first land in Lookout Landing, look north and you’ll see Hyrule Castle floating in the sky and make out the spire that juts out skywards as the tallest part of the castle. That is where you can find the Dusk Bow.

To get to the Dusk Bow, use the Lookout Landing Skyview Tower and head towards the Hyrule Castle. Your goal is to get as close to the tall central spire as possible.

You’ll need around 2 stamina bars to safely reach the spire but don’t worry if you don’t manage to reach it directly. As long as you land inside the castle, you can use Ascend repeatedly to climb higher and higher until you reach the top part of the castle.

From there, climb around the central spire until you’re just about to reach the summit. Look down and you’ll see that one side of the spire is cracked with a small cavity inside.

Land inside and you’ll see the Dusk Bow is lying on the ground. Pick it up and you will have successfully obtained the Dusk Bow for the first time.

Getting Additional Dusk Bows

To get the Dusk Bow the second time, wait for a Blood Moon. Blood Moons occur after roughly seven in-game days and respawn all overworld enemies and items. Since the Dusk Bow isn’t found inside a chest, it is considered an overworld item by the game system, meaning you can collect a new Dusk Bow every new Blood Moon.

If you’re unwilling to make the journey a second time, you can also buy a new dusk bow from a bargainer statue inside the Depths in exchange for poes once you’ve successfully obtained it at least once.

With 30 Base damage, not only is the Dusk Bow a top-tier bow, but it’s also available very early in the game; practically as soon as you exit the tutorial islands.

The Dusk Bow also fires long-range arrows with lower fall-off than regular bows. This means it can reliably hit weak spots of enemies that are far away which is extremely useful when you need to land a hit on a fast-moving enemy.
