One interesting set of armor is the Arachic Set. This set is the first set of armor that you have access to within the game. Containing only two pieces, the set is certainly one that is easy to get and a must-have for anyone wanting to collect everything.

Updated on 28 June by Chad Thesen: The Archaic Armor Set is one that players can get early on, but certain parts can be easy to miss. This article was updated to make navigating the guide a bit easier, so finding the Archaic Armor can be a breeze. It has been further updated to include a mention of how to customize it.

Locating The Set

Both pieces of armor, the Archaic Tunic and the Archaic Warm Greaves, are available in the introductory area of the Great Sky Island. There is another piece in this area called Archaic Legwear; however, this piece is almost unmissable. It is located in a chest right before the exit of the Room of Awakening.

Defense: 2

These greaves can be found on the Great Sky Island very close to the outside of the Shrine of Gutanbac. This Shrine is one of the three you must complete before you are able to enter the Temple of Time. This Shrine is found on the eastern side of the map. You must have the Ascend Ability before obtaining these greaves. Its in-game description reads "Warm greaves believed to be from a very long time ago. Despite the old look, the heat-retaining material makes it pleasantly resistant to cold temperatures."

After leaving the shrine, you will see a hollowed-out tree in front of you. Travel to that tree and use your Ascend Ability to reach the top of the ledge hanging over the other ledge.

The Archaic Tunic can be found pretty close to the Arachic Warm Greaves on the Great Sky Island. This is located within the Pondside Cave. It is close to the fourth and final Shrine in this area. The in-game description reads, "Old-fashioned upper-body wear. It's got some holes, but the soft cloth feels so good to the touch. It's hard to keep it wrinkle-free."

Customizing The Archaic Armor

You may not be able to upgrade this armor at the Great Fairy Fountain, but that won't stop you from giving it some flare with dyes. Dyes will allow you to constantly freshen up the armors you frequently make use of. To dye your clothing, head over to the Kochi Dye Shop in Hateno Village. Speak with the NPC clerk named Sayge. You will need to spend 20 rupees, as well as offer the items you wish to use for the dying process. Once you have selected the armor you wish to dye, selected the items to dye it, and paid the rupees, you will be sporting a newly colored version of the armor you selected. The Archaic Armor is not the only armor that will benefit from a new look; another great one to restyle is the Glide Set -- try to make it match your Paraglider.
