While exploring Hyrule Castle in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, chances are you will come across some weapons and shields left behind by the Royal Guards that once protected the Hylian royal family. You may also have noticed that these weapons were pretty powerful weapons.
Another thing the Royal Guards left behind was the Royal Guard armor set. Given the name, it is no surprise that this armor set is just as powerful as the weapons and shields that accompany it. Considering Hyrule Castle is so huge, it can be difficult to find the three pieces. This guide will show their locations.

The Royal Guard Armor Set
The Royal Guard armor set has a base defense of 12. Each of the pieces within the set has a base defense of 4. As a full set, there isn't a bonus. However, you can look cool if you pair it with the Royal Guard weapons. You can find Royal Guard Weapons scattered around Hyrule Castle. You cannot dye it at the Hateno Dye Shop. However, you can enhance it to become more powerful at the Great Fairy Fountains. If you enhance each piece to level 2, you obtain the Charge Attack Stamina Up bonus. The cap is found in Zelda's Room, the boots are found in the King's Study, and the uniform is found in the Guards' Chamber, all within Hyrule Castle.

You can find the Royal Guard Cap and the Royal Guard Boots during the quest inside the castle. Princess Zelda will appear and disappear around the castle. She will enter into Zelda's Room and into the Library which contains the King's Study. If you're here doing that quest, you can just follow along with the quest.
Royal Guard Cap Location
When you first enter Hyrule Castle, you will enter an area known as the Sanctum. If you look to your left, you will see a door you can exit.
Upon exiting the Sanctum, you will see a tower in the distance. This is Zelda's Study. You'll want to glide down to the study. You can enter into the study to find a chest.
After exiting the study, you will see there is another room across the small bridge. Be careful here, the bridge will collapse. Once you make it to the other side, you will be in Zelda's Room.
The chest in the corner of the room contains the Royal Guard Cap.
Royal Guard Boots
There is a Shrine behind Hyrule Castle. This is the Serutabomac Shrine. Directly beneath the Shrine is the entrance to the Library.
Walking down the stairs, you will see the entrance to the Library. Make sure to jump down from the stairs and turn around.
Looking back at the stairs you were just on and using your Ultrahand Ability will show that one of the bookcases can move.
Moving the bookcase will reveal the King's Study. Inside the chest, you will find the Royal Guard Boots.
Royal Guard Uniform Location
The final piece of the set isn't technically inside Hyrule Castle. It is inside the remnants that stayed on the ground rather than what is in the air. Go to this location on the map. It is on the way to the First Gatehouse.
You will find an entrance into what is left of the castle.
Inside here, you can use your Ultrahand Ability to lift the gate. Once you go through the gate, turn left.
You will end up in a hallway area. You will want to turn left again toward the end which seems like a dead end.
Once you reach the end of this hallway, you will see there is actually another room here. Go inside it.
This area is known as the Guards' Chamber. Inside this room, go to the wall directly in front of you.
You will notice a ledge above you that you can Ascend onto.
There will be a chest located on this ledge.
The chest has the Royal Guard Uniform inside.
