Updated By Wyatt Grondin on June 16, 2023: A section on how to obtain Midna's Helmet if it's been sold has been added. A quick mention of how the Helmet work with the Great Fairies has also been added to the stats section.
Where To Get Midna’s Helmet
Midna's Helmet was originally exclusive to the Breath of the Wild DLC, but in Tears of the Kingdom, it has been added to the base game, making it much more accessible. To obtain this rare headgear, players must venture into the treacherous Chasm on Eventide Island. Though the dangers of the Chasm may be discouraging, the potential rewards from finding rare items, such as Midna's Helmet, make it a risk worth taking.
How To Reach Eventide Island
Lurelin Village is the optimal starting point if you're planning on making your way to Eventide Island. After a visit to Lurelin Village, you may have noticed a neighboring landmass situated directly across the Necluda Sea - this is none other than Eventide Island. In order to reach this captivating island, you have a couple of options at your disposal: constructing a raft will make the adventure a breeze, or alternatively, you can always opt to glide over from an elevated location.
Enter Eventide Island Chasm
Upon arriving at the island, head for the coordinates: 4513 -3471 0002, and you will notice a dark and ominous chasm. Without hesitation, make the decision to jump in. As you fall deeper and deeper, the suspense builds until you reach the bottom. From there, set your sights on the exact location and coordinates of 4566 -3626 -0472. As you make your way towards it, a chest suddenly appears in the distance, surrounded by a striking red flame. Be prepared, as approaching the chest will engage you in an intense battle with a group of fiercely determined bokoblins.
Complete The Coliseum
In this challenging task, you will face five waves of enemies. The first wave consists of three fierce red bokoblins, followed by three intimidating blue ones in the second wave. The third wave features two menacing black bokoblins, while the fourth wave introduces a powerful white bokoblin.
The final wave will test your skills to their limits as you face off against four more bokoblins. With each wave, the difficulty increases, but your reward grows closer. Successfully eliminating all the enemies will remove the gloom from the chest, allowing you to open it and claim the cool-looking Midna’s Helmet.
Midna’s Helmet Stats
Midna's Helmet is more than just a cool-looking item. It has a practical use as well. By wearing this helmet, you're providing yourself with a base defense of 7. Additionally, you'll receive a special effect known as Gloom Resistance.
It should be noted that like many pieces of armor not belonging to a set, Midna's Helmet cannot be enhanced by a Great Fairy. Considering 7 is over double the basic 3 that most armor has at default, this makes Midna's Helmet leagues better than any other helmet you have not upgraded.
How To Get Midna's Helmet Back If You Sell It
Armor can be sold, so if you happen to sell Midna's Helmet and regret your decision, there's only one way to get it back. Once you've found the chest containing Midna's Helmet, the next time you speak with a Bargainer Statue in the Depths or the one at Lookout Landing, the Bargainer will allow you to buy Midna's Helmet in exchange for 400 Poes. This isn't a drop in the bucket for the lost souls, so be very careful when selling armor you don't have space for.
