Being able to create these two items will be extremely beneficial for your travels, as it will allow you to obtain Zonai Devices, including fans, portable pots for cooking, flame emitters, and wings. In this guide, we will lead you to the easiest spots to find Zonaite throughout the overworld.

Updated by Christina Roffe on May 30, 2023: After exploring through the Depths and other locations on the map, we have found a few more locations to find a large quantity of Zonaite and added them here.

Mining Cave

At the start of the game, you will be on the Great Sky Island above Hyrule. There are many caves around here where you'll find a lot of important gems that can be used for Zonai Devices and improving your weapons. The Mining Cave is where you'll be able to easily find some Zonaite at the start. This is in the southern region of Great Sky Island, just above the Room of Awakening, which is the first location you find yourself in. You can find the entrance to the Mining Cave in the image shown above, with mining carts and fans just outside. It will be underneath the exit from the Room of Awakening.

As you make your way deeper into the cave, you'll notice large, shining rocks. When you break these open, they will provide you with a few Zonaite. Remember to use a weapon that is either a Claymore or has a rock attached to it to break these.

You can use Link's Fuse ability to take one of your current weapons and fuse it with a rock nearby if you don't have a weapon to break these open just yet. There is guaranteed to be a few in the area, and once you create the Fusion, you'll be able to hit the rocks a few times to get your Zonaite. We were able to find a lot of Zonaite in the whole cave, so make sure to break every rock you find.

Sinonoyk Lightroot

Another suggested spot where you'll be able to find a ton of Zonaite is within the Depths found below Hyrule. Whenever you defeat enemies in the Depths, you'll get a bit of Zonaite in return. However, there are also certain enemy camps that hold a ton of Zonaite for you to farm.

You'll want to start at the Sinonoyk Lightroot, found towards the middle of the Depths map. Just south of the Lightroot, you'll find a couple Bokoblin camps that will allow you to farm more than 20 Zonaite. The camps can be found in the two map images shown above. Not only will defeating the enemies give you some Zonaite, but if you destroy the sparkling rocks found in the area, they will also provide you with the material.

Nuzimak Lightroot

As you can probably tell by now, Zonaite is mostly found in the Sky and Depths rather than the Surface. Another spot you can visit will be south of the previous Sinonoyk Lightroot, at the Nuzimak Lightroot.

From the Nuzimak Lightroot, there will be a couple Bokoblin camps to the north and west, shown on the map images above. These each will hold at least 10 Zonaite to add to your collection. There will be another area a bit further north from the Bokoblin camp with a bunch of large trees. In this section, you'll be able to find a ton of rocks you can break open to get Zonaite as well.

Forge Construct

Towards the end of the Mining Cave, you'll find a few different Constructs nearby to a forge. Approach the Construct at the forge and talk to them to unlock processing. They will be able to take the Zonaite you gathered and make it into either a Crystallized Charge or Zonai Charge. A single Zonai Charge will require 2 Zonaite, while a Crystallized Charge will require 3.

You can pick up the items from the table next to the forge to add them to your inventory. Then, just past the Gutanbac Shrine in the eastern region of Great Sky Island, you'll find a Device Dispenser. With this, you can input Zonai Charges or Construct Horns to get Capsuled Zonai Devices in return. This will allow you to utilize Zonai Devices throughout the world, as you can deploy them from their capsule whenever you need. Make sure to save up on Zonaite whenever you visit the caves, so you can stock up on Zonai Devices for your next adventure.
