Luminous Stones are commonly found at various titular deposits scattered over Hyrule and the Sky Islands, but this material cannot be found in the Depths.

The best place to farm these stones is in the Sky Islands, however, in and around the Zora Domain, within the Lanayru Great Spring, is also a hot spot for these items. Many caves around the kingdom will also harbor plenty of deposits to mine.

You are able to break the deposits by using a heavier weapon or by blowing them up in order to collect the individual stones. Flint will also be released upon impact. Once they are destroyed they will not respawn until after the next Blood Moon, meaning you can return time and time again.

Another place to find Luminous Stones is on top of Stone Taluses, as they carry a deposit with them. The deposit is the easiest way to bring down this miniboss during a fight as it is its weak spot.

As you traverse the expanse of Hyrule, your Purah Pad can scout for Luminous Stones to save you time.

Luminous Stones have a variety of uses during gameplay, from purchasing rarer materials to feeding a certain beast. Firstly, the stones can be used to purchase dye for your apparel and used to make Navy Dye at the Kochi Dye Shop. Staying in the cosmetics department, Luminous Stones can also be used to buy one piece of the Radiant Armor Set within the Gerudo Secret Club and used to upgrade this and the Awakening Armor set later.

Luminous Stones can also be used to get your hands on a pile of Diamonds. After completing the Luminous Stone Gathering side quest, you will be able to take the stones to Ledo, who will give you two Diamonds for 10 Luminous Stones. Diamonds or other precious gems can also be gained from Luminous Stones by feeding the item to the Dondons located north of Lakeside Stable. Simply place a stone in front of the creatures, and after they eat it, they will deposit a handful of gems around 15 minutes later. Lastly, Luminous Stones can also make a decent fused weapon.
