However, there are still plenty of creatures that aren't so bountiful, and can only be found in one specific spot. One such animal is the Stealthfin Trout. This fish can give you a lot of benefits in cooking recipes, all of them in stealth, as you can figure out by its name. But it can only be found in one place.

Where To Get Stealthfin Trout

TotK - Great Hyrule Forest Location on Map

The Stealthfin Trout is only able to be found in one location: the Great Hyrule Forest moat. You can find this area on your map, northeast of Lookout Landing and northwest of Eldin Canyon. There is a single path that bridges the moat to the forest, making the entire thing easy to access for catching the Stealthfin Trout. It is recommended to come here at night, as the Stealthfin Trout give off a bioluminescent light in the darkness, making them a lot easier to find. Trying to catch them in the daytime can be a real pain, and choosing to do it at night will get rid of unnecessary frustration and pain.

You will have to jump into the water and swim to catch the fish, including using the Dash ability, which can quickly deplete your Stamina if you are having trouble. This is why you should use the Zora Armor, if you have it, as well as some Stamina-replenishing elixirs or meals, just in case. As you approach the Stealthfin Trout, they will try to swim away from you quickly, which is where you will need to Dash to catch them. Spam A as you Dash, and you should be able to catch the Stealthfin Trout without much of an issue.

Just be careful that if you are unable to catch it a few times, the Stealthfin Trout will eventually get too scared and dive into the water, eventually resurfacing some time later. You can also put some Yellow Chuchu Jelly on the tip of an arrow and shooting it into the water around the fish. The Jelly will electrify the water, killing the fish, and they will float on the surface for you to swim out and claim as your own.

  3. Spicy Pepper Seafood: Stealthfin Trout + Spicy Pepper
  4. Fish Pie: Stealthfin Trout + Tabantha Wheat + Goat Butter + Rock Salt
  5. Cheesy Baked Fish: Stealthfin Trout + Hateno Cheese

All of these will give you a good does of Hearts, as well as use the Stealth boost from the Stealthfin Trout.

As for the Stealth Armor, you can use the Stealthfin Trout to upgrade each piece of the armor set by visiting a Great Fairy. Each one will require 10 Stealthfin Trout for this upgrade, meaning that you will need a total of 30 Stealthfin Trout to completely upgrade the entire set with the Stealthfin Trout.
