How To Farm Hylian Rice

All you need to do in order to get Hylian Rice is to cut grass. Literally.

Not all grasses work. In general, only the grasses in the East Necluda Region have a high chance of spawning Hylian Rice when cut down. Tall grasses have a higher chance of dropping Hylian Rice, but regular grass also works; you'll just have to cut down more.

To cut grass:

  1. Stand in a field of grass and swing a bladed weapon (swords, claymores, etc.).
  2. Use Claymore's Charged Attack to spin around if you have some stamina to spare. You'll spin around like a Hylian lawn mower, cutting down anything in your path.
  3. Cancel by pressing B, or you'll end up running out of durability fast.

The clip below can give a bit more context on where, and how, to farm Hylian Rice.

Cutting grass is a surprisingly profitable use of your time as not only do you get tons of Hylian Rice, but you can also stock up on Restless Crickets and, depending on the region, Hot-blooded Frogs or Hightail Lizards. Just remember to mash the A button to not let the creatures get away from you. But if your goal is to only farm Hylian Rice, you don't need to worry about that.
