The Warm Safflina is a flower that can be incredibly useful. On its own in dishes, it will give you a Cold Resistance for 2:30 per piece you use, and then once you can start using the Great Fairies to enhance your armor, the flower will be a necessary ingredient to upgrade your Snowquill Armor to help you in the frozen environments around Hyrule.

Updated by Shane Black on June 30th, 2023: This guide was updated to give more detail about where players can find Great Fairies across the map, as well as added more links in the text to relevant guides and articles. Also padded out some additional details to help make it more informative and helpful.

Where To Find Warm Safflina

TotK - Warm Safflina Location on Map

While you can stumble upon this flower in a lot of places around the game's map, you can specifically look for it in two places:

  1. The northwest slopes of Death Mountain
  2. Near the Southern Oasis in the Gerudo Desert

If you are looking for it near Death Mountain, you can start from the Mayak Shrine and start heading up the mountain on the East Deplian Badlands. You will find a handful of these along the slope, and even better: you won't need to worry about the weather like you will if you go into the Gerudo Desert.

However, if you do want to go scavenging in the scorching heat of the Gerudo Desert, first, remember to wear the appropriate attire to deal with the heat, and then travel to the Karahatag Shrine and drop down to where the Shrine is sitting on the sand. Here, you will find a good amount of Warm Safflina. It is also important to note that you could find the Warm Safflina elsewhere in the desert as well; this is just the place where it grows the most and where you are guaranteed to find some.

Again, you can find these flowers in other locations, but when they are guaranteed to be growing in abundance in these two locations, what's the use in looking? Just stick to these two places whenever you need a Warm Safflina and you will be good to go. Now get cooking or upgrading!
