In The Legend Of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom there are a variety of ways you can obtain resources. You can even get resources from places you wouldn't think. This includes but isn't limited to stones, plants, animals, enemies, and more.

These resources can help with powering up armor, crafting items, bartering, et cetera. One resource you'll want to work for is the Lizalfos Tail. There are a few different types of Lizalfos in the game and to upgrade the armor with their tail, you're going to need quite a bit.

How To Find Lizalfos

The character in The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom is about to fight a couple Lizalfos.

There are actually a few different kinds of Lizalfos in this game. This means that depending on the type of Lizalfos, will determine the area that you will need to travel to. These are lizard enemies that can be difficult if you don't have the correct armor on. Some you'll find scattered across Hyrule. You will also find the Lizalfos in the Eldin Mountains, Death Mountain, and Eldin Canyon where there is a hotter climate. You will easily notice them as they will have a glowing orange horn and there will most likely be fire coming from them as they breathe it.

In Death Mountain, you'll find roughly 12 roaming about. You are not guaranteed to a tail drop when you defeat one of these beasts. Try to not be on the ledge of a mountain when you defeat one of these creatures as the tail could fall. Some have possibly noticed that the fire Lizalfos changes to ice lizalfos at night, however that hasn't been 100% proven. Some Lizalfos will be found in the Lanayru Wetlands as well as the Lanayru Great Spring. You may find that the Lizalfos travel in pairs.

The Silver Lizalfos have been said to be located at coordinates -3131, 3487, -0783 at a mining camp. While the Black Lizalfos will be found in the Depths. If you travel to the Great Abandoned Central Mine, you will be able to find these Black Lizalfos throughout the area. You may also find them at Stinger Cliffs as well as between Cape Cales and Mount Dunsel. During the mission titled Ruffian-Infested Village Side-Adventure, you will find one there.

Ice-Breath Lizalfos will be found in Hebra Mountains as well as Gerudo Highlands. This Lizalfos will be blue-greenish with blue stripes and have red eyes. There are also electric Lizalfos located Southwest of Central Hyrule. You'll want to be Southwest of Gerudo Town.

It's suggested to wear Flamebreaker armor which will cancel out their attack.

Fighting Lizalfos

While each Lizalfos can have different abilities, to defeat them you'll use similar tactics. Try to not get surrounded as they are stronger in groups. If you can seclude one then take them out one by one, that will be your best bet. Overall they have great agility, however, due to their size it does take a while for most of them to build an attack up. If you get your timing right, you can counter their attack and sidestep to prevent taking damage.

Not only do they have the possibility of dropping a tail, but also a talon and horn as well. Be cautious around water when in the wetlands as they tend to use camouflage in their environment, so you won't see them until it's too late. The Silver Lizalfos have a lot of health and can reach high speeds while dashing toward you as well as jump pretty far. Utilize Ice Fruits or White Chuchu Jellies, so you can lower their health while they aren't moving much.

Lizalfos Tail Uses

You can fuse the tail with various items such as weapons to create new weapons or use them in elixirs. You can even use them on arrows. In weapons, it will increase your attack power by 6, or you could sell the tail for 18 rupees. If you bring them to Kochi Dye Shop, you can use them on your armor to change the color.
