The Battle Talus in particular is a confusing boss that can't be defeated through ordinary attacks. Instead, you'll need to defeat the enemies on top of it and find its weak spot to bring it down.

Where To Find Battle Talus

There are a multitude of Battle Talus bosses spread throughout all of Hyrule, which we have not been able to find all of them yet. However, we can lead you to an early game location of the boss should you wish to take it on.

We were able to find a Battle Talus west of the Royal Ancient Lab Ruins located within Hyrule Ridge. It will be directly north of New Serenne Stable, and will be hidden in the ground as a Bokoblin camp. Once you approach it and one of the enemies notices you, however, it will come out of hiding and the battle will begin.

How To Defeat Battle Talus

This enemy at first might seem quite daunting considering the fact it is made exclusively out of rock. This means that your attacks on it's body with any of your weapons will be useless and won't be able to penetrate its exterior.

Instead, the only way to take down the Battle Talus is to hit its weak point, a shiny rock on top of the enemy. You'll notice an arrow floating above it, indicating you to shoot or hit it to damage the boss. There will most likely be a few Bokoblin enemies on top protecting this weak point, so you'll want to take these guys out first with your arrows. After you've finished off the Bokoblins, there are two methods you can use to defeat the Battle Talus. You can either take the long-range approach and use arrows, or get on top of the Battle Talus and hit its weak point with your weapons.

If you take long-range route, make sure to fuse your arrows with items to increase its overall damage. Fire Fruit can be especially useful as it can not only deal extra damage but light up any nearby enemies to take them out more easily. You can also use Bokoblin Horns and Fangs to deal additional damage. This method will be a little bit harder to achieve as you'll need to have decent aim for each shot.

You can also take the approach of getting on top of the Battle Talus. To do this, first hit its weak spot with an arrow to get it to fall down. This way, you won't have to worry about it attempting to attack you, and it'll be much easier to jump on and get over to the weak point. You can also sneak up on the Battle Talus before the fight even begins and jump on top of it this way, giving you an early advantage. Once you're up here, all you'll need to do is keep hitting the weak point, and you'll eventually knock it out.
