The Depths underneath Hyrule present a number of challenges for you in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. One such challenge is the fearsome Frox boss. These massive, frog-like creatures are like a Hinox and can be found scattered around the dark caves that lie underneath the kingdom.
They are terrifying when you first encounter them, and you need to be prepared for a tough fight. However, that fight is worth it thanks to their use in upgrading the Depths Armor set. So if you are looking to take on some Frox to get their materials — or just to say that you beat one — then it's important to know where they are.
All Frox Locations
You will only be able to find Frox in The Depths, so don't worry about searching above ground for any. And you won't be able to focus on just one area to find them either, as they are spread across the entire map of The Depths.
In order to track down each one, you can use the nearby landmarks to find what you are looking for, as well as the exact coordinates to really narrow its location down. These coordinates will point you to the three big types of Frox: Frox, Blue-White Frox, and Obsdian Frox. All that's different between these is the amount of health they have.

The strategy to beat a Frox is pretty straightforward fortunately and is very similar to how you would fight a Hinox. It just involves stunning them with a Bomb Flower and then going to town on the crystals on their backs. Just be ready to have to whittle away at a lot of health.
And don't be concerned if you beat all the Frox listed and are still in need of more materials, since all Frox will respawn when the Blood Moon comes. This event will occur every 168 minutes of gameplay.
All Frox Materials
There are three main types of materials that you can get from beating a Frox:
- Fangs
- Fingernails
- Guts
You will need all of them to fully upgrade the Depths Armor set completely, including needing to specifically find Obsidian Frox Fangs. So, you will have to fight at least a couple Obsidian Frox.
Every Frox that you kill will drop 2-4 of each of these materials, so farming them isn't that difficult. If you choose to fight and beat every single Frox on the map, then you will easily have more than enough to get all the upgrades you need.
