There are even more Korok scattered around Hyrule to look for than before, and they're just as hard to find as they were in the last game. You will have to look far and wide to uncover every single Korok.

How Many Koroks Are In The Game?

TotK - Hestu and Koroks Dancing

There are a whopping 1,000 Koroks that you can find in the game, which is 100 more than Breath of the Wild offered. With that amount, you are going to encounter a lot of Koroks at first, and they won't feel hard to find as well. But they will quickly start to get harder to find and will require you to do some real searching for them. This is where the hunt for them will get tough and will require you to turn over rocks, search every tree, and look in every corner of the map to find them.

Unfortunately, it's just not really worth it in the end. As you bring more and more Korok Seeds to Hestu, the big Korok you will enocunter early on who is looking for all of his friends, you will be able to unlock more inventory slots for you to carry weapons, armor, and more. But you reach a point where it is diminishing returns, and it's just not worth it to get more slots when you don't need them. You will have plenty of slots pretty soon and just won't need to get anymore.

In fact, you only need 421 Seeds in order to completely max all your slots: 108 Seeds for the Bow slot, 153 for the Weapon slot, and 160 for the Shield slots. If you want a direct breakdown for how many Seeds you need for each slot upgrade, look no further:

Bow Slots

  1. Korok Seed
  2. Korok Seed x2
  3. Korok Seed x3
  4. Korok Seed x5
  5. Korok Seed x8
  6. Korok Seed x12
  7. Korok Seed x17
  8. Korok Seed x25
  9. Korok Seed x35

  2. Korok Seed x2
  3. Korok Seed x3
  4. Korok Seed x5
  5. Korok Seed x8
  6. Korok Seed x12
  7. Korok Seed x17
  8. Korok Seed x25
  9. Korok Seed x35
  10. Korok Seed x45

Shield Slots

  1. Korok Seed x1
  2. Korok Seed x2
  3. Korok Seed x3
  4. Korok Seed x4
  5. Korok Seed x5
  6. Korok Seed x10
  7. Korok Seed x10
  8. Korok Seed x10
  9. Korok Seed x10

  12. Korok Seed x15
  13. Korok Seed x15
  14. Korok Seed x15
  15. Korok Seed x15
  16. Korok Seed x20

And in the end, the ultimate reward is Hestu literally giving you his excrement and offering you to watch him dance whenever you want. If that sounds like a reward worth pursuing to you, then you can absolutely go looking for them, but that's on you. There are way more activities worth your time in the game that offer you a better reward, and for far less time, like collecting armor or finding the best weapons.
