The Fusion Ability is one of the greatest abilities to date in The Legend of Zelda series. Link is able to fuse so many objects together. He can create powerful weapons, fuse items to arrows, and make his shields last longer by using Fusion. These can help Link tremendously while he is working to save the Kingdom of Hyrule. Another thing Link can do with this ability is to fuse certain objects together to make vehicles.

In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, vehicles are an important part of the game. They allow Link to traverse the world so much faster than he ever could on his own. Some vehicles will allow you to travel over water or lava. Others will allow you to fly through the air. With the ability to fuse so many items and the ability to obtain so many items, it can be difficult to even decide what to fuse together to create a vehicle. Here is a list of the top 15 vehicles you can obtain by fusing certain objects together.

Updated by Erin Rice on June 13, 2023: The longer players have their hands on The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, the more fusion vehicles they will create and share with the community. This update added 5 additional entries to the list. It also added some relevant links to help readers find the required items.

15 Excavator

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Excavator

This machine is one of the schematics you can obtain from the Yiga Clan Hideouts in The Depths. It will then be added to your Autobuild to use in the future. This machine is perfect for traveling around The Depths quickly. It also allows you to travel over the Gloom.

This machine is created using 4 Zonai Big Wheels, 2 Zonai Lights, a stone slab (you can probably use a wooden plank as well), and then 3 wooden planks or stone slabs to create the walls around it. This will protect Link from any attack that isn't straight on.

14 Big Rig

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Big Rig

The Big Rig is yet another Schematic that can be found in the various Yiga Clan Hideouts in The Depths. Once you find the Schematic, you can build it as soon as you have enabled the Autobuild feature. This is another machine made for traveling The Depths.

This machine is a little more complicated than the last. It requires spikes, wooden poles, wooden planks, a Zonai Steering Stick, and 4 Zonai Big Wheels. Once created, you can travel quickly, avoid Gloom, and ensure that any enemy that walks in front of you is damaged by the spikes.

13 Glider

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Zonai Glider

This vehicle is made using a Zonai Glider, Zonai Fan, and Zonai Steering Stick. If you need to glide a long distance (especially in the Sky Islands) and are worried about your stamina with your Paraglider, this is the perfect solution. This vehicle uses a fan to help it go faster and farther. The more fans you have, the fast it will go. (However, you need to be considerate of your Zonai Energy.)

With the Zonai Steering Stick, you are able to easily control where this device goes. While the Zonai Glider isn't difficult to steer by itself, this makes it even easier and worry-free. You can also use this, to begin with, and then jump off and use your Paraglider the rest of the way. That way, you can save your stamina for when you need it the most.

12 Fanplane

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Fanplane

The Fanplane is made by using a Zonai Glider and 3 Zonai Fans. It is much like the Glider fusion vehicle except it does not have the Steering Stick. This makes controlling the vehicle to be a little more difficult. However, the fans make it go faster.

This fusion vehicle is actually one of the Schematics you obtain from the different abandoned mines in The Depths. This one can be obtained in the Great Abandoned Central Mine, the same place you obtain the Autobuild Ability.

11 Boat

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Zonai Boat

While the glider above is practical in rare situations, this boat is practical in all situations involving water. It can take a long time to swim across rivers, and you run the risk of drowning if you don't have enough stamina. Thankfully, this boat is super easy to build and can be used in any body of water.

All you need to do is fuse a Zonai Steering Stick and at least one (though you can do more) Zonai Fan to a wooden plank. The Zonai Steering makes it possible to control where you're going and is a much better alternative to trying to use a sail. You need to use specific items to create gusts of wind for the sails to work. The Zonai Fan will help the boat go faster and get you to your destination sooner.

10 Minecart

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Zonai Mine Cart

Minecarts are essential for the Fire Temple, The Depths, and the Sky Islands. They will allow you to traverse the already created mine rails that litter all those areas. If you want to get around The Depths much faster, take advantage of the rails that will allow you to travel to other mines.

This is the same in the Sky Islands. While it isn't required in The Depths, certain areas require minecarts to reach. This is created just by fusing either a rocket or a fan to the back of the minecart. You can then travel on the rails with ease.

9 Hot Air Balloon

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Zonai Hot Air Balloon

Hot air balloons are great for traveling to areas of higher altitudes. They can be amazing within The Depths to reach the areas that require a ton of climbing. You can obtain a Schema Stone to create these. All you need is a Zonai Balloon, Zonai Fire Emitter, and either a hot air balloon bottom, or you can use a wooden plank.

The Zonai Fire Emitter will allow the balloon to fill up, getting it off the ground. The bottom part is for Link to stand on. Anytime you want up a mountain but know you can't climb it, make one of these. You'll get up there in no time.

8 Sled

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Zonai Hovercraft

The sled is another vehicle you can use in multiple scenarios. It is similar to one of the vehicles that the Yiga Clan uses to get around The Depths. You can create this by fusing a Zonai Steering Stick and Zonai Fan into a Zonai Sled. This vehicle can be used to traverse the over-the-top of Gloom in The Depths. That can be a lifesaver if you don't have a lot of Gloom Resistance.

It can also be used to travel over sand or snow must faster. While you can find and purchase both Sand Boots and Snow Boots to make traveling in those areas faster, this vehicle is still much better. The sled part of the vehicle is the perfect way to get around these areas. The Zonai Steering Stick helps you control the vehicle, and the Zonai Fan makes it go faster.

7 Cart

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Cart

The Cart is very similar to the Sled. While the Sled is perfect for use in the snow and sand, the Cart is perfect for use everywhere else in the game. Just like with the Sled, this can also be used in The Depths to glide over the Gloom with ease.

If you want to make this, all you need are 3 pieces. You need a Zonai Cart, Zonai Steering Stick, and Zonai Fan. The wheels on the Zonai Cart ensure that you will not need wheels for this. The Steering Stick gives you control and the Fan gives you speed.

6 Gloomdredger

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Zonai Gloomdredger

This is a vehicle that is available for sale in the Yiga Clan Hideout in the Gerudo region of the map. This is their main hideout and offers a ton of interesting activities. You must have the full Yiga Armor set before entering here. A Yiga Clan member sells it to you for 999 Rupees. The vehicle already comes with two wheels, some spikes, and a Zonai Steering Stick.

If you want to make it better, you can fuse more spikes to it, which can be purchased in the same area. If you want to create a similar vehicle, all you need is a metal or stone slab, some Zonai Wheels, and some spikes. This can be the perfect vehicle to take on The Depths in. It is designed to travel on the Gloom and use spikes to kill enemies.

5 Hoverdoom

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Zonai Hoverdoom MK.3

This is another vehicle that can be purchased from the Yiga Clan Hideout in the Gerudo region. This vehicle only costs 99 Rupees. It is similar to the last one but is made to fly. It is a hoverboard fitted with spikes and Zonai Fans. This vehicle can be fused with more spikes along the front and back to create the ultimate flying machine for The Depths.

This also offers Link more protection in the front of the vehicle. Since the device has so many Zonai Fans, fusing Zonai Batteries to the back of it can also ensure that you don't lose energy while in midair. If you want to create your own version, you can fuse some spikes onto the side of a Zonai Cart and attach some fans. If the fans are pointing down, the vehicle would be able to fly. This can be a great vehicle to take into The Depths looking for Lightroots and treasure.

4 Skateboard

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Zonai Skateboard

This is one of the coolest and easiest fusion vehicles to make. All you need to do is find a regular minecart (one that doesn't have any fusions already attached to it) and fuse it with your shield. This will essentially turn your shield into a skateboard. All you need to do after fusing your new skateboard is ride it.

Act as though you are going to use your shield and then jump. In the air, press the A button. This will allow Link to ride the shield. The only downside to this vehicle is that you must be going down a slope for it to truly work as it is intended. It can work some on flat ground, but not for very long. However, it makes traveling downhill a breeze.

3 Unicycle

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Unicycle

The Unicycle is the perfect fusion vehicle for anyone who just wants to get around the map quickly. This creation only requires 3 Zonai Devices. All you need to create this vehicle is a Small Wheel, Steering Stick, and a Stabilizer.

If you fuse the Stabilizer in the middle of one side of the Small Wheel and then add the Steering Stick to the other, you will create this. It is a fast little vehicle that takes up a very small amount of Zonai Energy and can go very fast.

2 Car

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Zonai car

This car is created pretty easily. It involves attaching Zonai Wheels and a Zonai Steering Stick to a stone slab. Doing this will allow Link to travel across the lava and the Gloom. This can be absolutely amazing in The Depths under Death Mountain.

Not only can it travel over dangerous things like that, but it can also have an easier time traveling over rocks. This car can also be created using a wooden plank or a metal plate rather than a stone slab. The only issue with that is that it is not capable of nearly as many things as this car is.

1 Fan Hoverboard

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Zonai Hoverboard

By far, the best fusion vehicle in the entire game is this interesting creation called the Fan Hoverboard. It is just two Zonai Fans fused to the side of a Zonai Steering Stick. While this may not seem like much, it is the greatest way to travel around. It can be used to reach higher altitudes, avoid Gloom, travel fast, and just avoid the many Monsters you run into on the ground.

The vehicle can run out of your Zonai Energy relatively quickly, so it isn't a bad idea to use Zonai Batteries as well. You can reach anything with this vehicle. If you are in The Depths, be sure to consider where the ceiling is. This vehicle can go pretty high.
