9 Riju
Riju, the young Gerudo Chief, emerges as a captivating and empowering character. As the leader of her tribe, she strives to protect her people and confront the challenges they face.
When Link is reunited with the young chief in Tears of the Kingdom, he finds her training her skills in order to protect her people once again. Later on, the hero can use her abilities to defeat powerful enemies, including Ganon.
8 Tulin
The young warrior of the Rito tribe proves to be an exceptional character among the new companions introduced in the Tears of the Kingdom. Tulin was still a young hatchling in Breath of the Wild, but you witness him becoming a formidable companion.
Not only is his character refreshing and pure, but his combat abilities offer much-needed assistance to Link's battles. He headshots enemies with ease, and his Wind Gust ability helps the hero glide faster to his destination.
7 Hyrule Champions
The Hyrule Champions, Urbosa, Mipha, Daruk, and Revali, are all integral characters in the series. Each companion represents a different race and possesses unique abilities and personalities.
Urbosa and Revali bring much-needed combat power, while Mipha and Daruk protect the young hero. It is difficult to pick only one from the warriors, as they all work together as a team to assist Princess Zelda and her hero.
6 Ezlo
Ezlo sadly appears in only one title in the series -- The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap. He was once a powerful Minish sage but got transformed into a talking hat due to a curse.
Despite his diminutive size, Ezlo possesses immense knowledge and provides invaluable guidance to Link throughout his adventure. He serves both as a mentor and a comedic relief. Fans would love to see him again in future titles.
