The first one took just over 3 hours, but pretty soon, everyone got the hang of the Fusion ability and started taking advantage of it, creating some wild builds. Players have been creating faster and more precise fusion vehicles to help them beat Ganon as fast as possible.

If you are a beginner at speedrunning or a professional, there are many things you can try to reduce your playtime from seconds to minutes. If you still haven't played the game and want to attempt a speedrun, then you should at least read some tips on what to expect. Hyrule is much larger than in the previous game, and it hides many quests and powerful monsters in every corner of the world.

10 Tulin's Wind Gust Is Powerful

If you decide to gather all your companions instead of skipping their stories to gain extra time, then you have to take advantage of Tulin's Sage ability. Not only is he great and head-shotting your opponents, but he can also create quite useful wind gusts.

By using the wind gust ability, you can travel faster than before. You can use the wind to help you move forward while in the air, but surprisingly, it also working in the water. If you build a raft, you can use the ability to push the sail.

9 Skyview Towers Are Your Friends

Once again, if you decide to unlock any of the towers around Hyrule, you can then use them as a means of transportation. In the same way, as in Breath of the Wild, the towers can save you lots of time. On the other hand, they may also steal valuable minutes, as some of them are trickier to unlock than others.

Even so, Skyview Towers can be indispensable. You can propel yourself to the sky and find sky islands or Shrines. You may also discover some hidden locations you wouldn't otherwise have noticed.

8 Gather Fairies

If you want to break the record for the fastest speedrun, or at least improve your own time, then you will have to skip all unnecessary quests and locations. In other words, you will not be able to unlock much-needed hearts. One hit from any enemy will be enough to KO you.

If you want to find and catch fairies, you will have to look around water sources. They can be found in sky islands or inside wells, for example. If you keep them in your inventory, they will instantly revive you if you die. They only heal five hearts, but if you haven't expanded your heart container much anyway, that might be all you need.

7 Use Precious Stones

If you are running out of time and can't be bothered to gather the master sword or other powerful weapons and armor, then you will have to take advantage of whatever materials you find. Precious stones are, in that case, a much-needed source of attack power.

By fusing rubies, sapphire, topaz, and much more to your weapons or shields, you can gain elemental powers. You will be able to blow up your enemies or shock them and force them to drop their weapons. Being able to disarm your opponents may prove to be helpful, as it allows you to quickly escape unwanted fights.

6 Use Shield Fusions

If you have watched the animated series of The Legend of Zelda, then you definitely remember the scene where Link throws a bomb to the ground and uses the explosion as a way to fly. In Tears of the Kingdom, you can take advantage of bombs in the same way.

By fusing bombs to your shield, you can use the explosion's impact to soar through the skies. Of course, there are many other great items you can fuse with your shield to make your gameplay even faster.

5 Avoid Strong Opponents

This may not sound so helpful, but if you want to get faster completion times, you will have to avoid dying as much as possible. Even one death can steal valuable seconds of your gameplay. If you accidentally come across a powerful enemy you do not have to defeat, you can just shoot a dazzle fruit arrow and escape.

Skip all dangerous-looking monsters and go to the final boss as fast as you can. If you die even once, you may consider retrying your speedrun.

4 Use Simple Fusions

Tears of the Kingdoms has seen fans making a plethora of useful and absurd fusions. While they make the game much more fun and interesting, you do not really need anything complicated.

A simple hoverbike, or even attaching a rocket to a piece of wood is enough to help you progress. You can, of course, try to improve the already fast hoverbike and make it even greater.

3 Autobuild Is Invaluable

If you unlock Autobuild, then you should definitely take advantage of it. Of course, unlocking it takes a while, as you need to venture down into the Depths and search for a specific abandoned mine.

You will also have to enter a boss battle that can end up stealing valuable minutes of your speedrun. On the other hand, this ability will allow you to instantly build useful vehicles and weapons by using the required materials if they're around or simply drawing from your stash of Zonaite.

2 Ascend Makes Life Easier

Ascend is together with Fusion one of the most important and useful abilities introduced in Tears of the Kingdom. It makes climbing mountains and navigating through difficult terrains way easier.

If you have not used it much in your previous plays, then try experimenting with it in your next. You will save many seconds of tedious climbing and searching around for entrances and exits.

1 Take Advantage Of Glitches & Amiibo

Ever since the game came out, players and speedrunners have been finding lots of useful glitches. While some of them get patched fast, others still remain. You should use them while you still can.

Another item you can take advantage of are Amiibo. If you take a look at the most successful speedrunners, you will see most of them have the use of Amiibo in common. They can provide you with useful items, such as arrows, meat, gemstones, rare weapons, or monster parts. Using Amiibo can take up precious seconds, though.
