Much of the cast of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is returning to their previous roles, including Link, Zelda, Riju, and many more. These voice actors have showcased their incredible acting chops in Breath of the Wild and are nothing short of engaging in the newly-released title, Tears of the Kingdom, as well.

All the characters together form a band of fascinating and engaging backstories, all intertwined in some way to save Hyrule from its impending doom. Kengo Takanashi is returning to his role as Link in Tears of the Kingdom. Along with Breath of the Wild, he has also previously voiced Link in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. He is no stranger to the character, and will showcase his abilities all throughout Tears of the Kingdom.

Kengo Takanashi has appeared in many other popular Japanese video games, including Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker, Monster Hunter Rise, and more. You can also catch him in well-known and beloved animes, including Scarlet Nexus, Shironeko Project ZERO CHRONICLE, Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V, among many others.

7 Zelda - Patricia Summersett

Perhaps the most recognizable voice from Breath of the Wild has to be Zelda, voiced by Patricia Summersett, who is reprising her role in Tears of the Kingdom. Patricia breathes life into Zelda's character, giving her a dignified and regal voice with a bit of fire and sass to represent her young age.

You can find Patricia Summersett in a large quantity of other popular games, including Star Wars: Squadrons, Assassin's Creed: Syndicate, Arknights, and much more to come. She has appeared in shows such as Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card, and the well known 2013 film, The Smurfs 2.

6 Ganondorf - Matthew Mercer

Widely known as the Demon King, Ganondorf is portrayed by Matthew Mercer. This is his first time in the role, perfectly encapsulating the terrifying yet charismatic personality of the well-known main antagonist.

Matthew Mercer has an extensive and impressive resume, appearing in over 100 video games including Fire Emblem Engage, Persona 5 Strikers, Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Judgment, and much more. His show and movie appearances include Attack on Titan, Jojo's Bizzare Adventure, One Piece, and Hunter x Hunter, among many others.

5 King Rauru - Chris Hackney

King Rauru is one of the first characters you meet in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and is voiced by Chris Hackney. The character is an important leader for Link at the beginning of the game, and has a soothing voice to accentuate his friendliness.

Chris Hackney can be found in many other popular Japanese games, including Fire Emblem Engage, Rune Factory 5, Shin Megami Tensei V, Genshin Impact, and much more. You can also catch him in a multitude of series such as Attack on Titan, Scarlet Nexus, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Jojo's Bizarre Adventure.

4 Sidon - Jamie Mortellaro

Sidon is the prince of the Zoras, and is the descendent of the Sage of Water in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. He is voiced by returning actor Jamie Mortellaro, having voiced the character previously in Breath of the Wild and Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity.

Jamie Mortellaro has a long-standing career as a voice director, having led voice acting in titles such as Hitman, Octopath Traveler II, Horizon Zero Dawn, Devil May Cry 5, and even Breath of the Wild.

3 Tulin - Cristina Valenzuela

The all grown-up Tulin has returned to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom as a full-blown warrior, as well as the future Sage of Wind. Tulin is voiced by Cristina Valenzuela, also known under the stage name of Cristina Vee.

2 Riju - Elizabeth Maxwell

Riju is the chief of the Gerudos in Breath of the Wild, and has returned in Tears of the Kingdom, voiced by Elizabeth Maxwell. Riju has taken on the role of the Sage of Lightning in Tears of the Kingdom after choosing to wield the Secret Stone.

Elizabeth Maxwell has appeared in countless games such as Honkai: Star Rail, Fire Emblem Engage, Persona 5: Royal, and more. She is also known for her roles in series such as Astra Lost in Space, Seven Mortal Sins, and Dragon Ball Super.

1 Purah - Catherine Higgins

Purah has transformed once again in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, now appearing to be in her early adult years despite being well over 100 years old. Purah is voiced by Catherine Higgins, known for her role as C.C. in the Code Geass series.

Catherine Higgins tackles the role of Purah perfectly, guiding Link through Hyrule and creating many inventions to assist him along the way, including the Purah Pad. Catherine Higgins has appeared in other famous titles such as Devil May Cry 5, Super Mario Odyssey, and animes including Bleach, Sailor Moon, and Digimon.
