I've previously likened the introduction of the Zonai devices in Tears of the Kingdom to a kind of Hyrulean Industrial Revolution, and I don't think that's an exaggeration, as one dedicated fan has managed to create a vehicle that closely resembles a fully functional automobile, complete with its own suspension system for a seamless exploration of the most treacherous landscapes of the game's underground realm.

In contrast to the relatively flat terrain of Hyrule on the surface, navigating the underground Chasm area is like a wild rollercoaster ride with its uneven and rugged landscape. Not to mention the crimson spots everywhere, which are like danger zones that can suck the life out of poor Link's HP if he so much as steps on them.

That's why having a reliable vehicle down there is crucial. But here's the thing: Tears of the Kingdom's hand-crafted one-directional vehicles can't handle the bumps and lumps of uneven terrains, not only because they're made up of Zonai parts that are haphazardly stitched together, but also because they basically have no suspension systems that allow them to "flow" and bounce over road bumps like cars do in real life.

A car's suspension usually consists of a coil spring (which is available somehow in Tears of the Kingdom as a regular spring) and a damper or shock absorber. The two form a magical cushion that helps the car absorb the shock of uneven surfaces, just like when you jump on a trampoline and it gently bounces you back up. So when the car hits a bump in the road and is about to roll or flip over from the shock, the suspension will absorb or nullify that shock and help the car stick to the road's surface no matter what.

Tears of the Kingdom The Beast Vehicle

And that's basically what Lynx-Paws did with their new "The Beast" contraption, as they call it. They took the spring Zonai contraption that is normally used to help Link jump higher, and tied it to the chassis of the vehicle, allowing it to traverse most terrain with ease.

The whole thing is also easy to maneuver with the joystick they've attached to the top of their new beast. And Lynx-paws also noted that the spring-as-a-suspension thing works best with large wheels in particular. Of course, fans will have to create this contraption only once, then they can save it in the auto-build option and rebuild it later at any time and any place, provided they have enough Zonaite energy to consume.
