Nintendo has artfully hidden a sly jest at Link's height in Tears of the Kingdom which even the most observant players could have quite easily missed.

As spotted by Reddit user toripoop, there is a hilarious little Easter Egg hidden in Gerudo Town which might seem innocuous at first but is apparently a jab at Link's small stature. In one of the houses in Gerudo Town, there is a book lying on the table and players get the message "It cannot be read from here" when trying to interact with it. If players bring some of the boxes from outside using their Ultrahand ability and place them near the book to gain some elevation, they can read the book without any issues.

Considering that Link could very much pick up the book and read it, this is nothing but the developers taking a dig at Link's height and going along with the long-running meme in the community. Quite interestingly, this is not the only instance in the game where players have been unable to perform a task due to Link's height. In the Gerudo Shelter Jail, there is a man trapped inside and players cannot speak to him unless they use a nearby box.

The evolution of Link in the Zelda series somewhat mimics Ash Ketchum's journey in the Pokemon franchise, with both of the popular characters remarkably unaffected by time. While a number of games have different iterations of Link, the fascinating resistance to the natural progression of age is something that has remained constant, and so has been his height.

Nintendo is known for meticulously crafting games, so it isn't quite surprising to see a number of such easter eggs being a part of Tears of the Kingdom. Fans have already discovered a number of such easter eggs hidden across the game, ranging from items serving as a reminiscent for some of the older games to a ton of other stuff. It's little things like these that Nintendo has artfully woven into the game's fabric that plays a pivotal role in both the exploratory and replayability value of the game.
