Sensor + Upgrade in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

To increase your likelihood of finding the Sparkling Royal Guard's Claymore, you must embark on a series of quests involving two key characters: Robbie and Josha. Among the multitude of compendium entries available for purchase, the Sparkling Royal Guard's Claymore stands tall. While acquiring all the entries would incur a substantial cost, totaling over 15,000 Rupees, a more efficient strategy involves creating a manual save and investing 5,000 Rupees in purchasing 50 entries. This approach grants you an approximate 1 in 3 chance of obtaining the Sparkling Royal Guard's Claymore as one of the entries.

Tracking The Royal Guard's Claymore

Once you have acquired the Sparkling Royal Guard's Claymore entry, the next step is to employ the Sensor on your Purah Pad to detect the weapon's presence. By activating the Sensor and setting it to track the Claymore, you will receive alerts whenever you are in proximity to the weapon. This invaluable tool significantly increases your chances of finding the Sparkling Royal Guard's Claymore during your exploration.

After configuring the Sensor to track the Sparkling Royal Guard's Claymore, it is advisable to embark on an adventure into The Depths while simultaneously activating the remaining Lightroots along the way. As you traverse the vast expanse of The Depths, remain attentive to the Sensor's signals, which will indicate the proximity of a Pristine Royal Guard's Claymore, a precursor to the Sparkling variant.

While the exact conditions for the Sparkling Royal Guard's Claymore to spawn remain a mystery, speculation suggests that the weaponry wielded by Shadow Soldiers may be influenced by your level scaling. Engaging in battles and vanquishing a substantial number of enemies throughout the game could potentially impact the level scaling, consequently affecting the appearance of powerful weapons such as the Sparkling Royal Guard's Claymore.

Unlocking The Pristine Royal Guard Claymore

Pristine Royal Guard's Claymore in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

With the Sparkling Royal Guard Claymore unlocked you can return to Robbie and access the Compendium Database to purchase the Pristine Royal Guard Claymore entry and track weapon using the sensor. You can return to The Depths to track the Pristine Royal Guard Claymore. Again, just like the Sparkling Royal Guard Claymore, the Sensor will also go off when you're near the Pristine variant of the Claymore.

An alternate approach to finding the Pristine Royal Guard Claymore is to look for the decayed version of the Royal Guard Claymore in the Hyrule Castle. If you go to the coordinates -0282, 1083, 0356 in the castle, you will find the Rusty Royal Guard's Claymore in the Sanctum, near a statue of a horse. This sword almost always going to spawn here.

With this in-hand and the Purah Pad upgraded to where you need it to be, you can now go into the Depths and look for the Pristine Royal Guard's Claymore. It won't spawn in the same place repeatedly, so you will need to use the Purah Pad to track it down. Be ready for a good journey through the Depths as it can take a while to find.

However, there are a few different locations that the sword has been found to spawn at, thanks to some datamining done by the community. The sword will spawn at one of seven different locations to the north of the Abandoned Kara Kara Mine. If you teleport to a nearby root, you will trigger these locations to respawn their items, so if you make the rounds and don't find the sword, just teleport back and they will reset. Just look out for the statues in this area of the map, and eventually, you will come across the weapon.

In fact, if you are wanting to save even more time, the best bet is to warp to the closest root near a location, and head to that spot. If the sword is not there with the statue, then just teleport back to the same spot and come back. This cuts down on time spent navigating the dangers of The Depths. It will still require some luck but with these two strategies, you won't spend as much time as you would without knowing the locations.
