The physical distributor of Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines 2 in some European regions, Plaion, recently listed a new release date for the game that places it sometime during the final week of October 2023. The anything official was heard about Bloodlines 2, both the developer and publisher of the game confirmed that the project was delayed indefinitely.
As shared by Twitter user "Gamer&Trader On X," the online shop branch of Plaion has listed both console and PC versions of Bloodlines 2 for October 27, 2023, which is just over two months away from today. If the leak turns out to be true, we should probably expect the marketing campaign to start soon.
Upon our investigation of the same website, we also managed to find the same release date listed for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC versions of Bloodlines 2 on Plaion. However, this still doesn't confirm anything as we have seen the same scenarios ending up being a human error at the end of the day.
Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines 2 was originally announced back in March 2019. The game was in development at Paradox Interactive's Hardsuit Labs, targeting a release in March 2020. That being said, things started to go south in the development phase as the game was delayed to a later date in 2020, but then it was delayed to an unspecified date in 2021.
In February 2021, Paradox Interactive announced that Hardsuit Labs would no longer be responsible for Bloodlines 2 as the project was handed over to another internal studio. Since then, the game never received a new release window, but Paradox Interactive briefly informed fans every following year that the game was still in development.
With Gamescom 2023's Opening Night Live showcase ahead, this leak may probably cause many Bloodlines 2 fans to remain optimistic about a possible release date announcement. What makes this leak a bit more reliable is the fact that Paradox Interactive's CEO claimed back in 2022 that a 2023 release date for Bloodlines 2 was "absolutely not impossible." So, there seems to be some hope here.
