Genshin Impact's 4.0 update has been one of the biggest updates in the game's history, adding a plethora of new content in the game, ranging from new characters to quests, weapons, and much more. The Archon quests are one of the most anticipated parts of the update, and the developers have added a nice little twist to it this time, by turning players into detectives and lawyers in the city of Fontaine, staying true to the Nation of Justice tag.
In order to unlock Chapter 4, Act 1 of the Archon Quest, Prelude of Blancheur and Noirceur, players should first meet a few requirements. If you are new to the game, then it is not possible to play the quest at first, since it requires at least Adventure Level 40 to start. This essentially means that it is a World Level 5 quest, so it is definitely not going to be straightforward. Additionally, you need to complete Chapter 3, Act 6: Caribert, which was added as part of the version 3.5 Update in the game. Once you meet these two requirements, you should automatically see the quest appear in your quest menu.
Soloist's Prologue Walkthrough
The first part of this Archon quest requires players to complete the quest, Soloist's Prologue. To start off, head to Caravan Ribat, which is located in Ashavan Realm, Dharma Forest, Sumeru. You will meet Dehya there, and embark on your journey to Fontaine. From there, you will need to use a Waverider to reach the Romartime Harbor. After reaching Fontaine, you will find a lady standing beside the water. That's none other than the infamous Lynette, the first of the three new characters that are being added as part of the update. Soon you will find the second character, her twin brother Lyney joining the party as well, and he will invite the players to a magic show.
How To Collect Materials For Magic Pockets
Follow Lyney as he leads the path until you meet Lady Furina, the Hydro Archon. The prophecy of Fontaine will then be revealed, and players will need to distribute magic pockets to help the residents. You can simply walk up to the NPCs marked on the map to interact with them and distribute the magic pockets. Once you have distributed three, Lyney will mention that they have run out of pockets and will ask you to craft some. Go to the area marked on the map and use Hydro to collect the Romaritime Flowers available on the map. Once you have collected them, head back to Lyney with the materials.
While heading back with Lyney, he spots a thief and ask the player to follow her. Head straight and take the staircase on your right to reach a lift. Use the lift and once you reach the upper level, you will find the thief escaping. After waiting for a while, you need to head back to Lyney, who reveals that he wasn't able to catch the thief but could recover the items she stole. Finally, you will need to ride the aquabus to reach the Court of Fontaine. This completes the first part of the quest, rewarding you with x1000 Adventure XP, x44000 Mora, x4 Hero's Wit, and x4 Mystic Enhancement Ore.
The City of Rains and Remembrance Walkthrough
After you have completed the Soloist's Prologue and hopped on the aquabus to the Court of Fontaine, The City of Rains and Remembrance quest automatically gets added to your quest menu. After reaching the Court of Fontaine, head to where Lyney is to meet the final new character which has been added in this update, Freminet. After a short conversation, you will need to carry the magic pocket materials to the Beaumont workshop. You will meet Estelle there who will lend you the items. Soon after, a bunch of goons will come to extort money from Estelle, before Childe interrupts in between to mitigate things.
You will then take control of Childe and then have to defeat the enemies. This is a pretty easy battle and shouldn't take long for you to get done with. In the midst of the battle, Childe loses control of his Hydro Powers and then reveals there might be something wrong with his Vision. Eventually, Childe gives his Vision to the Traveller so that he doesn't lose control. From there, you need to head to the Opera House for the magic show. Head to the Court of Fontaine Court Region Waterway Hub and use the lift to go to the third floor to reach the Navia Line. Hop on the Aquabus and interact with Elphane to travel to Erinnyes.
The aquabus will stop at Marcotte Station, and you need to head to the southern part of the map, to the Fountain of Lucine, which is right in front of the Opera Epiclese, where you will meet Lynette once again. The Traveller will hear some strange voices at the Fontaine which grabs Paimon's attention. Lynette will explain the strange voices are due to hypersensitivity to Hydro elements since the Fountain of Lucene carries tears from a number of people. Once the conversation ends, enter the Opera House and sit at the seat which Lyney has reserved for you. A cutscene will trigger and Lyney will perform in his magic show. This completes the quest and will reward the players with x15 Adventure XP, x49200 Mora, x30 Primogem, x5 Hero's Wit, and x9 Mystic Enhancement Ore.
Lies Casts Shadows Under Gathered Lights Walkthrough
If you watched Lyney's magic show, you would have seen that things got out of hand and Lyney was accused as the prime suspect for the serial disappearance case which has been rampant in Fontaine. In the Lies Casts Shadows Under Gathered Lights quest, players will need to defend Lyney in a trial and gather clues for the same.
Where To Find Clues In The Opera House?
The first objective is to look for clues in the Opera House. The first clue is the random number generator. You can find this in the left part of the Opera House, by speaking with Quentin. Quentin will reveal that there was a problem with the machine and it ended up generating the same number, always. The second clue is the noise heard during the show, you need to speak with Esildor who is in the center of the Opera House to get this added to the evidence. Finally, head to the entrance of the Opera House to meet Tristane and grab the third clue, which reveals that no one left or entered the Opera House during the magic show.
After collecting the clues, head back to Lyney where he will reveal how his trick works. This will add three more clues, The Magic Trick, Onstage Magic Box Structure, and Audience-Side Magic Box Structure. From there, you need to continue into the underground passage to get some clues. There are three clues here, with the first one, Broken Flower Vase, found right in the center of the area, towards the right. Opposite the vase, you will find the Dropped Hook Rope. Right beside the vase, you will find the dress of the girl who disappeared. Finally, the last clue is the vent right at the other end of the room. After grabbing the clues, you need to go to the trial. Go to the main hall and change the time to 8 am the next day to start the trial. A long cutscene will begin, and eventually, you will have to complete a minigame to defend Lyney.
